What is Neohesperidin Dihydrochalcone ?
Neohesperidin dihydrochalcone is an artificial sweetener derived from citrus.Like other highly sweet glycosides, such as glycyrrhizin and those found in stevia, NHDC's sweet taste has a slower onset than sugar's and lingers in the mouth for some time. Unlike aspartame, NHDC is stable to elevated temperatures and to acidic or basic conditions, and so can be used in applications that require a long shelf life.Industrially, NHDC is produced by extracting neohesperidin from the bitter orange, and then hydrogenating this to make NHDC.

Use
1) High sweetness and low calorie. High sweetness (1500-1800 times sweetness of sucrose), refreshing taste, lasting aftertaste, excellent shielding bitterness effect. Glycosides of neomethyl hesperidin dihydrochalcone hydrolyze in human body, glycosides do not participate in metabolism, so its calorific value is very small (8.36J/g), it can be used as a low-energy food sweetener.
2) Sweetness is slow and time-consuming. Sweetness comes slowly and lasts for a long time (57S). Sweetness is refreshing and pleasant. The time when sweetness reaches its maximum is longer than saccharin (42S) and sucrose (24S).
