Andrographolide is a diterpene lactone compound extracted from Andrographis paniculata. It is one of the main active ingredients of Chinese herbal medicine Andrographis paniculata. It has white prismatic or flaky crystal appearance, odorless and bitter. Andrographolide is dissolved in boiling ethanol, slightly soluble in methanol or ethanol, very slightly soluble in chloroform, and almost insoluble in water or ether.
It has the effects of detoxification, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. It has special curative effect on bacterial and viral upper respiratory tract infections and dysentery. It is known as natural antibiotics.
