Function
Madecassic acid has a wide range of pharmacologic activity in vitro and in vivo, reducing collagen-induced arthritic inflammatory response, promoting proliferation of human fibroblasts in vitro, and treating or preventing hypertrophic scars and keloids.

Application
Madecassic acid had a significant contribution to the healing of burns and was one of the main active components of Centella Asiana in the treatment of burns and scald. The mechanism of action was related to the inhibition of lipid peroxidation, the promotion of collagen synthesis and the inhibition of apoptosis.
