Function
Quinic acid is a unique alicyclic organic acid in higher plants and a precursor for the biosynthesis of aromatic amino acids. It is commonly found in vascular plants and often coexists with shikimic acid in plants. Quinic acid has a unique structure and multiple chiral centers, making it an important material in stereoorganic synthesis. It is widely used as a chiral raw material for the synthesis of natural products and the preparation of new polymeric materials.

Application
Quinic acid has anti-inflammatory properties and has a good activation effect on peroxidase activated receptors, indicating that it can ensure a sufficient number of active keratinocytes to participate in the regeneration and migration of wound epidermis, promote wound healing, and in combination with its inhibition of Propionibacterium acnes, it can be used for the prevention and treatment of acne. External use of quinic acid can also reduce the damage caused by light radiation.
